THE HAUNTED CAROUSEL

"I wanted to let you know that i loved the Haunted Carousel. it proves, yet
again, the versatility of the theatre.i really enjoyed the use of the metaphor
of the carousel, which remind us that time, despite our limited preceptions, is not linear. the play operates at the time line of imagination, in which the
tenses, the past, the present, and the future coexist.
the direction was brilliant, and i appreciate that inspite of being a children's
theatre, this play pushes the boundary of what that definition means. it is
horrifying, in a Hitchcock, Poe, Lovecraft kind of way. the actors, young as
they were, portrayed the characters with a sophistication and penache well
beyond their years. their interpretations of the chacters, plot, and script
demonstrated thoughtfulness, mature empathy, and deliberation, which was impressive, and no doubt, responsible for their ability to evoke and sustain the thematic tensions throughout the performance. Lovely work!
