Dear Sol troupe members, families and friends,

The Board of Directors has decided to move the “Night in Hollywood” Gala/Auction back a few months in order to give everyone time to secure donations for the auction and sponsors for the event.  It has become clear from feedback received from many families who are seeking donations, that we need additional time to process those requests and organize the auction.  I do not want anyone to feel stressed to get this done by our original event date of May 2, 2010.  We want this first Gala/Auction to be a great success and by moving the event back we will have time to make our inaugural event a fantastic evening for everyone.

Please continue with your efforts to secure donations from the potential donors who were identified in your event packet, and from any and all other potential donors who you know and can approach for auction items or sponsorship.  We are pleased to have any type of item to auction, and many troupe families have already come up with novel and fun items such as boat rides, a decorative designer sink and singing lessons.  Contact me at any time with questions or information that you may need to secure a donor.  We really appreciate your efforts.

We will be having another meeting of the Gala/Auction committee soon, and at that time a new date for the event will be determined and we will send that information to all of you.  Rescheduling this event will be a positive step for everyone and will allow us to fill in the next few months with smaller fundraising events and fun social gatherings for all of the troupe families.

Thank you all again for your efforts so far, and let’s continue to put this event together for our children with renewed enthusiasm.  Sol Children Theatre Troupe is on the verge of great new things, and its future looks especially bright thanks to all of the wonderful families who are involved with this fantastic organization.
